Nope - no irony. A lot of the spam I get (as opposed to the spam that is
sent to me but which gets trapped by my ISP) is from UK companies. I
maintain that it's a good thing that I know who they are, or that they don't
want to tell me who they are.

You are being ironic, I assume.
About 1 in 10,000 of the spams I get are from a "clueless but otherwise
legitimate UK company". 9,999 are about dodgy medication etc (including more
recently a huge increase in "pump and dump" schemes).
