We are seeking a dynamic individual committed to the needs of dyslexic
people, to lead on all education related areas, including policy,
research and practice.
You will be highly motivated and able to inspire and lead people at all
levels. Whilst being a team player, you will also be able to manage
complex change.
To fulfil the requirements of the job, you will need a thorough
understanding of Government initiatives and policies related to SEN. As
an excellent communicator, you will have a proven track record of
negotiation at high levels, of contributing to expert committees and of
working in collaboration with partners to achieve performance standards
for inclusive education. In addition, you will have experience of
securing funds for education development and of innovative income
generation for education project work.
A Criminal Records Bureau check will be sought from the successful
candidate.

Full time – Reading based
We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated and enthusiastic
individual to develop the work of the
BDA both in the UK and overseas through its projects and with partner
organisations. The post
holder will strengthen, develop and widen the BDA’s membership, develop
the work of the Training
Agency and Adult Services and manage statutory fundraising activity.
To fulfil the requirements of the job you will need to demonstrate
success as a strategic and
motivational leader with experience as a supportive and enabling
manager; have a proven track
record of income generation from a variety of statutory sources and of
raising the profile of an
organisation. You will have experience of influencing key stakeholders
to develop partnerships at a
strategic level and a proven ability to build capacity within a
dispersed organisation.
Educated to NVQ level V and beyond, you will have a high level of
financial literacy, including a
record of managing large funds. Capable of coping with conflicting
demands, you will be tenacious
in completing tasks and achieving targets, with the ability to work both
independently and as part of
a team.
