Hello Chris
We have had an increase in the numbers of visually impaired students
this year, and consequently our local social services department was
unable to meet the demand for mobility training. We have employed a
freelance trainer to provide on-campus training, and this will be
reclaimed from the students' DSA (with the agreement of their LEAs).
However, off-campus training - so things like routes to the shops, bus
stops etc - cannot be reclaimed from DSA as it's not related to their
academic study and so that has to be funded separately.
Hope that helps
Honey Lucas
