As I understand it this is a recognised 'medical condition' and the student
could be referred by their GP. I have certainly seen students who have been
approved for a needs assessment. As I recall they had a note from a doctor.
I think they would be referred to an Opthalmology Clinic.
One route is this - go have an eye test. The optician encounters a condition
that they can't handle and writes a letter to the patient's GP asking them to
refer.
