Subject: data protection and FOI fees when personal information is
involved
on the subject of which fees regime - and cost limit - applies, I took this
up with DCA a couple of months ago and it is being considered.
There may be an issue of what personal information counts as personal data
and hence is covered by DPA, and what falls outside it and hence is not - I
am thinking Durant here. This is relevant to all categories of personal
data, surely, not just new category (e) - it may be personal informaiton but
not personal data.

Interesting!
I have a differing view on the fees question. FOI only changes where people
can get information from, not the type of information it is therefore I
would still put a request for personal information from an unstructured file
under the DP fees, i.e. up to £10.
