No, GSCC insist that students go to NFAC member centres (not accredited
centres at present) BUT you can sometimes persuade them otherwise if the assessment
is urgent or there is some other reason. The problem is that there probably
is not a centre equipped to help you within easy travelling distance of
Chippenham.
GSCC and other research councils have their own rules which are broadly
similar to the DSA system but they do apply other conditions not commonly applied
by LEAs. I understand that they have expressed a willingness to participate in
the new system of licensed centres but this is not likely to be published
until November, possibly December.
As the person who sent out the request for information can I point out how
important it is for centres to get that info back to me as soon as possible so
that the they can be sent a form to complete and so that the list can be
published by the DfES as soon a possible.
If you have not received an email asking about your centre and feel that you
should have done please contact me directly off list please.
