It is gradually changing. Some firms now just print part of the
number rather than the whole number. There may be some value in
case of query related to the purchase or subsequent card bill.
One needs to be careful when disposing of credit card slips and
receipts with the number on (plus, often a signature) I always
cut or tear them up so the number is never complete.
It is personal data but as it is being given to the data subject
it would hardly be a breach of the Act.
