Some LEAs will allow this, if you make a brief case for it. If students
have a case then the next task is finding a tutor. Has anyone developed
sound procedures they'd like to share for that?

Subject: DSA for learning support over the summer vacation
Hi all,
I'm sure this is a perennial question, but is there anyone out there who has
a clear idea of what exactly the DfES's standpoint is on funding learning
support outside term time?
This is particularly pertinent for students approaching their final year,
who are expected to work on their dissertations over the summer break, with
a deadline for submission at some point over the Autumn term. It is arguably
the time when learning support is needed most, and yet still a vast number
of LEAs feel unable to fund it.
Thoughts, information, comments... debate?!
Thanks in anticipation.
