A student with Schizophrenia has been accused of plagiarism in
her dissertation. She will be appealing to the Academic Registrar.
However, the Senior Campus Tutor and Course leader involved
think that despite this she deserves to be awarded a degree (albeit
a very low one)
I don't know the in's and outs of whether she has actually
plagiarised. This a point for debate in her appeal. However, the
Tutors feel that if she has it wasn't deliberate as her mental health
problems make it difficult for her to discriminate the
appropriateness of the material she uses.
I just wondered if anyone has encountered a situation similar to
this and how it was resolved?
