It is countrywide. It differs between students who receive means tested
bursaries and those that receive non means tested ones. The main category of
students (I think) that are affected are the ones that are studying DipHE
nursing.

Subject: Re: DSA's and Bursaries
We have been following this exchange and have a question -
Is this problem something that only arises in particular NHS regions? If
so, does anyone have a list?
This issue interests us. We carry out assessments for a selection of
Universities offering Nursing courses and so, regularly, have requests for
and recommend 'DSA type' funding for Nursing Students on bursaries. I
don't think any of our cases in this category have been turned down for NHS
'DSA equivalent' support - although it sometimes takes all day to track down
someone prepared to say 'yes'. NB the requests we know about for DSA
type support normally follow one of our own psychologists' assessments.
However, I don't think there is a Student Services filter factor restricting
applications?
Thanks for any information
