In response to assessments being carried out in other situations other than
at Access Centres. I would just like to say that we often go to different
venues depending on the student's disability as long as it is within our
geographical area and have worked with other Access Centres to ensure that
the student has been referrred to the nearest one. We have also discussed
the idea of a mobile assessment van! I think the OU have purchased one and
it is something that may help in the future. The problem with my MG is that
it would not pass the accessibility test and reasonable adjustments could be
a little testing! However none of these problems solve the difficulty of
distance as a factor of time. Anyone got a helicopter?
Best wishes,
E.A.
