DfEE Funded Higher Education Innovations Project
The University of Wolverhampton currently has the largest number of
profoundly deaf students of any higher education institution in Britain.
Within the University there is considerable expertise in working with deaf
people and teaching English as a second language to deaf people. We have
recently been successful in obtaining funding for a key project focussing
on extending education and career opportunities in Art & Design for the
deaf community. To launch this exciting new project we are looking for
motivated, creative individuals able to work effectively both independently
and as part of a team, within budget and to strict deadlines. We currently
have the following three research opportunities;

You will be a multimedia specialist able to research and develop an
interactive website promoting deaf graduate expertise to potential
employers in art, design and media industries. The ability to research,
direct and work as part of a video/website production team is essential.
You should have a Masters degree or equivalent experience in a related
subject area and an active interest in working with deaf students and
practitioners is essential. We are looking for someone with a vision of how
the finished product will look and the ability to realise it. This is a
part-time post on a fixed term contract for one year. Ref A2465

Research Fellow (Interpreting /Sign Linguistics Specialist) - 0.5 - Ref A2467

expertise in art and design educational research and an interest in deaf
education. For the second post, you must be an experienced BSL interpreter

education. Both posts require a Masters degree or equivalent experience in
