International Consortium for Educational Development Conference, July 2000
The International Consortium for Educational Development in Higher Education
(ICED) will hold its third World Conference from July 22nd to July 26th,
2000 in Bielefeld, Germany. Last year's conference in Austin, Texas
attracted participants from 19 countries.
Initially established in Oxford in 1993, ICED is an association of national
educational development networks. The aims of ICED are:
* to help partner organizations to develop their capacity for
educational development in higher education through the sharing of good
practice
* to enlarge the number of partner organisations of ICED
* to help educational developers in countries where no national
network exists to from such a network
* to support educational development in higher education in developing
countries
* to link with other national and international organizations
Preceeded by an 'Internet Forum' virtual conference, the event in Bielefeld
will encourage the exchange of findings from research and development
activities in academic/educational development and their applicability to a
range of issues of interest to participants. These include quality assurance
in higher education, teaching competences and changes to the curriculum and
academic structures.

Contributions can take the form of papers, symposia, seminars, workshops or
posters and must be received by Saturday 15 January 2000.
Feedback will be given to authors by Wednesday 1 March 2000.
