Hi, all,
Last week's Times Higher carried a report with statements from John
Rogers, 'manager' of the RAE, saying that there had been many
representations saying that research into teaching and learning in a
particular discipline should be able to be submitted to the discipline
panel.
As a result panels are to be told that they should consider such
research.
Of course, individual panels may choose to reject such papers from
consideration. I trust any of you faced with this will protest to the
panel concerned. I certainly shall in respect of Civil Engineering - if
necessary, particularly since they did consider teaching and learning
research last time around - guess who made representations about it!
Thought I should post since folks are so busy these days, even those
that get the Times Higher don't have time to read/scan it all. (The
joys of being emeritus!)
Cheers
