The London Institute comprises five renowned colleges of art,
communication and design. With an international reputation and an income
of c.£70 million, the London Institute has some 25,000 students from
over 70 countries.
STUDENT SERVICES
Student Servics is a large and dynamic Department providing learner
support for students studying in the five constituent colleges of the
London Institute. The Department's central service has recently moved to
new accommodation and college based provision is also being developed.
STUDENT ADVISER (DISABILITY)
Salary: £16,520-£22,403
Working with the Disability Co-ordinator, the postholder will provide
information, guidance and advice to disabled students and potential
students in a facilitative manner. Other duties are supporting students
in their application for the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA);
maintaining a clear records system; liaising with Local Education
Authorities (LEAs); and where appropriate, reffering students to
specialist staff within the team, or other parts of Student Services.
The successful candidate will have experience of support with disabled
people as well as some knowledge of DSA and FEFC funding sources for
disabled students.
