There has been a lot of recent discussion on this on dis-forum - see
the archives on www.mailbase.ac.uk.
The solution would be to use a TFT screen, like those on a laptop.
TFT monitors are widely available, and although more expensive than
standard monitors, the prices are coming down. You would till need to
take account of lighting and the effects of other screens if in a
large lab.

Have had an enquiry this week from a local TAFE College who have a
student with severe epilepsy. Apparently the flicker of some VDU's
causes her to fit and they are searching for other options to reduce
this.Having no techies at hand I thought maybe the listerv may have
some experience with this. They have tried * changing the room around
to reduce the glare * glare guards * adjusting colours, contrast and
brightness Purchasing new screens is an option but uncertain if this
will help because the ones that are causing her most problems aren't
that old. Any help appreciated and thanks in anticipation of replies
