I have just been looking at this on the web site (the revised
guidance notes: http://www.doh.gov.uk/coin.htm).

I think the government has missed the opportunity to include support
for nursing and midwifery students (and PAMs) with disabilities,
particularly in light of the document 'Making a Difference' in which
paragraph 4.5 (pg. 24) states that "Widening access to learning is at
the heart of our drive to create a learning society. We have to reach
out to ... people with disabilities"
How can this "reaching out" be done without appropriate financial
support?
Further to this the circular "Widening access to nursing and
midwifery education and training" (also at the same web site above)
does not mention any of the 'under-represented groups' - including
disabled people.
Anyone know when guidance & funding for nursing and midwifery
students (on diploma programmes) will come about?
David.
