In a discussion with somebody who is hoping to bring a new braille based
product to the market I mentioned that it was my impression that braille
usage among HE students is on the decline. This is purely anecdotal based
on my experiences with VI students coming to us for assessment.
The individual concerned said from his research "braille is still the basic
medium for the totally VI to learn how to read at school."
Can anybody add any hard facts to this discussion?
