OFFICE: DISABILITY SUPPORT OFFICER
Applications are invited for the post of Disability
Support Officer to provide a quality support service
to students with disabilities. It is expected that the
person appointed will have a proactive practical
approach to the provision of advice and support for
individual students. The postholder will be primarily
concerned with the provision of student support but
will also be involved in disability issues more
generally through, for example, contributing to the
development of policies and procedures, raising staff
awareness and the production of publications.
Applicants should be qualified to degree level or
equivalent and must have practical experience of
working in a University or higher education
environment with students with a range of different
disabilities (including specific learning
difficulties, sensory impairments and physical
disabilities), and of conducting study aids and study
strategies assessments. Excellent interpersonal,
communication and organisational skills are essential
together with experience of enabling and information
technology and the ability to work alone or as part of
a team. Salary will be on the scale for Administrative
Staff Grade 2 (£18,915 to £24,479) per annum. Informal
