Dear Dis-forum Folk
Further to the heated and fascinating discussion of semantics, sparked off
by the use of 'dyslexics' in the Ch 4 documentary, I raised this issue with
one of the programme producers who told me that their research had revealed
that dyslexics broadly preferred to be simply called 'dyslexics' and not
'people with dyslexia' - in much the same way as diabetics are not referred
to as 'people with diabetes'.
Please don't shoot me I'm only the messenger.
