Hi Katie,
May I suggest that as your student is a typist, perhaps voice recognition
is not necessarily the only answer for web work.
One of our students has no vision at all. He is very adept with computers
and therefore we tend to share information. He has used HAL and Jaws etc
and is well versed in these and many other aspects of IT. He recently
suggested that I look at a new version of MS Internet explorer. Apparently
there's a new plug in which allows the user the have everything on the
screen read to them. I haven't tried it out (yet) but the same student
informed me that he was very impressed with it. What's more it's free!
