I am undertaking a small piece of research for my MA degree (Disability
Studies), and would like to interview a small number of disabled people who
have gone through mainstream secondary education within the United Kingdom
over the past thirty years or so.
If you or any of your colleagues might know a suitable respondent, I wonder if
you would pass on my details to them? I would like to interview respondents
as soon as possible because of lack of time available. Some respondents who
originally agreed to take part in this research have had to withdraw for
various reasons.
Any respondents replying to this request, are asked to give dates at
mainstream secondary school, examination subjects taken with results and the
name of the LEA area where school was attended. Respondents should be able to
answer "YES" to the question, "Do you consider yourself to be a disabled
person?".
The research is concerned with examining the choices and decisions made whilst
at school concerning examination subject choices and levels, in relation to
post compulsory education opportunities and/or careers.
It would be very useful if respondents were either currently following a
course in an FE or HE Institution and/or are in employment.
