Can any one help?
I am looking for some clarity around the issue of tax
and the non-medical helper allowance within the Disabled Students
Allowances. I have a student who is using a non medical helper for
30+ hours a week. The helper is not a student. I am trying to find
out who should be responsible for the tax and national insurance on
the money that she earns. Until recently I have assumed that the
helper was self employed. Is this the case?
If anyone has experience of this issue I would greatly appreciate any
help you can offer. I have contacted the Inland Revenue but this just
seemed to confuse matters.
