We have a student studying on the Diploma In Social Work, who has
claimed support for being profoundly deaf through the DSA. She is
now on placement and because of her disability has had to work out of
her immediate home area and for 4 nights a week she has had to stay
in B&B. Her husband works and she has two disabled children, so for
the nights she is away she has had to employ a Nanny/au pair. The
LEA are not willing to pay anything towards the costs, stating that
this would give her a distinct advantage over other students - has
anyone any suggestions on how to recoup some of the costs?
Thank you.
