I have a scooter, but I have just been loaned an electric
wheelchair by the employment service as I now work at Hull
University. I was a student at Loughborough until 3wks ago
and used my scooter there. When in the Pilkington Library I
had my own "parking space" behind the issue desk as it would
be impossible to drive a a large scooter like mine down the
narrow aisles. I have just got a new house and can't get
the scooter in.
Now that I have a wheelchair, I am able to use it inside
many more buildings than would have been possible with my
scooter as it is obvioously longer than a wheelchair. I
can also use it on trains. You asked if there was another
forum on which you could discuss this topic.. I own a
cerebral palsy / dystonia listserv on which this topic is
sometimes discussed. To join:
