Director
Skill is a successful and expanding national organisation developing
opportunities in
post-compulsory education, training and employment for people with any sort
of
disability. Skill works extensively with practitioners and key policy
makers and has a
highly regarded information service for people with disabilities, their
families/supporters and people working with them.
Skill requires a Director with outstanding leadership qualities to take
overall
responsibility for managing and developing its services and resources.
This key post
involves staff and project management, public speaking, written work and
liaison with
government and other bodies. The postholder represents the organisation
externally.
Applicants should have considerable experience at senior management level,
together
with an understanding of education, training and/or employment issues. A
commitment to equal opportunities is also essential.
Based in London, the postholder will undertake travel throughout the UK and
beyond.
The salary range will be £32,500 to £37,500 (under review). Thirty days’
holiday per
annum plus statutory and office holidays.

Information Service Manager
Skill is a successful and expanding national organisation developing
opportunities in
post-compulsory education, training and employment for people with any sort
of
disability. Skill also provides a high quality information service for
people with
disabilities, their families/supporters and people working with them.
Skill requires a full-time Information Service Manager to run its busy
advice service,
answering enquiries about education and training for disabled people. The
post
involves managing information service staff - currently two assistants.
Applicants should have a high level of written and oral communication
skills,
experience of information work, a systematic, problem-solving approach and
proven
people skills. Based in London, some travel within the UK will be
necessary.
The salary is on local government related scale SO1/SO2, points 29-34 -
£19,821 -
£22,653 including Inner London Weighting.
