There have been a couple of other responses to this - mine is related more
to tactile signage and plans of buildings etc, which are yet another art
form.
We have developed a technique for the translation of building plans into a
suitable computer contained graphic, which we then pass to our sign makers
to turn into good looking signs on any material, which can incorporate
Braille as well!
The new production technique is not as expensive as previous techniques and
is good looking enough to be incorporated into mainstream signage in the
corporate sense. We have installed them in Museums and arts based
buildings, and they are NOT the ugly yellow background ones in Sainsburys!
:)
