A vacancy for a Disabilities Officer to work in the Independent Learning Unit
at the University of North London has arisen. Eddie Lynch, who some of you will
know through dis-forum has left the university for a new and exciting position
in Tower Hamlets. He will be greatly missed by students and staff.
Eddie worked in the Independt Learning Unit (ILU) which is a resource area for
students with disabilities within the library.
His position will be advertised in The Guardian tomorrow (wed 3 Sept) and here

£15,918 - £18,159 UKP pa inc
The University's Independent Learning Unit, located within the Learning Centre,
is a well-used technical resource base and study area for students with
disabilities. Reporting to the Disabilities Manager, you will manage the Unit
on a daily basis and will provide training and support for disabled students in
their use of the Unit's resources. You will be a member of the Disabilities
Services team which is a part of Student Services.
Educated to degree level or equivalent you will have a thorough knowledge of
disability issues. An ability to communicate well is of prime importance as
are excellent interpersonal skills. You will have experience of working with a
range of IT equipment and will have an ability to work both independently and
as part of a team. Ref: SS304.
