I'd have thought a simple mass-produced platform such as the ones
available for painting (I think you can get them at places like Argos
and DIY stores) would be fine. They have steps up to a fair-sized
platform, which I,m sure must be non-slip, and guard rails on three
sides. There is also a new one which works on a kick-stool principle
i.e. it moves easily on castors, butwhen you put weight on it it
locks in place, but it's only just been invented and I'm not sure if
it's on sale yet.
On a separate subject - has anyone had experience of a dyslexic
student who has failed a written assignment - not an exam - twice,
and been asked to do a viva? If so, did it advantage or disadvantage
the student?
