In order to ensure a consistent approach CHESS will be liaising with
Skill on recommendations to make to the government in time for their
proposed white paper, I have received some comments from CHESS members
who are dis-forum users which will be passed on to Skill, principally
the issue of suitable funding for deaf students support will be raised.
Part-time students who are deaf also require funding, this may also be
covered if the govt. follows closely the recommendations made by
Dearing. It has been said that Chess will receive acknowledgment as
consultants in the Skill response.
