Not strictly true, I think. Sassoon was designed for teaching early
literacy, and so has elements in common with handwriting. The dyslexia
world has, slightly anecdotally, I think, found it useful, because of the
more distinctive word shapes arising from the longer ascenders and
descenders. What's good for literacy may well be good for dyslexia. But I
am not convinced that it is the last word in producing a legible font for
dyslexic people on screen and paper. I suspect that something (even?)
better could be done. We have got an appeal on our web page
(http://www.dyslexic.com/jobs.htm) for a student to research the area,
because I am not aware of any research that has been done specifically from
the point of view of (adult?) dyslexia.
