We are beginning to use textHelp! and it is a programme I would strongly
endorse if you don't have a computer that can read text back. Although it
takes about an hour to really learn how to use textHelp, the readback,
spelling and prediction bits, it is well worth it.
For dyslexics it can pick up weird and wonderful spelling and it learns
from each session (so it is ideal for subject specific words). For all of
us who type and leave out key words or need some help in polishing up at
the end, the read back is excellent and the voice can be modified to suit,
though it isn't perfect. Finally, the prediction aspect can be useful or
can be turned off!
I can well believe that textHelp was designed with dyslexics in mind. When
I rang up with a problem getting it set up, the woman who solved the
problem said she was dyslexic!
I haven't seen Dragon at work.
Hope this helps
Ellen
