I would be interested in hearing from anyone who actually uses this card.
I don't use one but the reaction I get in most local shops, banks etc.
when I make a comment about the product range etc. is almost invariably
"You had better write to the Manager/Head Office about it".
This happened in a Bank yesterday even though the manager was in sight and
was consulted by the assistant after I had already drawn attention to my
dyslexia.
Too many people still associate dyslexia with children, so before you pull
out a card you need to know that the assistant is dyslexia aware. Just as
some places display the Hearing Imparement symbol and the Message "Happy
to Help", the *logo of the BDA and the international symbol for literacy*
could signal dyslexia awareness in School, College and Public Libraries
and in the retail sector.
