If you are using Windows '95 with Microsoft Office, then Schedule or
Outlook ('97) can include alarms that will remind the student of pre-set
events. Lotus Organiser can do the same.
These programs have the facility to pop-up with reminders during work,
especially if they are put into the start-up group. However they are
memory hungry and can slow things up considerably if you are working on a
486 with 8-16megs ram.
There are many shareware diaries that are available which take up less room
and work well. http://www.shareware.com has some,
http://www.windows95.com/apps/alarms.html has alarms and
http://www.windows95.com/apps/popup.html has programs that pop-up to remind
you about things....not just times in a diary!
http://www.tucows.com is another useful web site.
I have copies of certain 3.1 and '95 shareware diaries on CD-ROM if you
would like me to send them.
Best Wishes
