Looking through the disforum archive for an LCD screen supplier I've managed
to get a quote for a 10 inch screen for ukp 2495. This seems extremely
expensive. Has anyone had a better quote recently?
The student I'm dealing with has been diagnosed as having photosenstive
epilepsy and never has fits unless he's using a PC screen - strobe lights,
TV screens, fluorescents don't seem to affect him. He's already bought a PC
as he's doing a BSc Software Engineering which he's been using, but this has
caused one blackout. Another happened during lab work.
I was hoping we could justify a claim for funding for an LCD screen for his
home PC - we've had another student with epilepsy using a laptop
successfully - but 2495 does seem rather expensive! The alternative is to
recommend a laptop but this seems a waste as he already has quite a decent
PC.
I know this subject crops up on a regular basis and I wondered if anyone's
had any recent experience which might help.
