We also have an applicant who has applied to study maths who has
Asperger's Syndrome. He has been to visit the university a number of
times, as his parents are keen to ensure that we can offer the type of
support he needs. I noticed that he is much more confident away from his
parents on a one to one basis. His school have informed me that he
requires a point of contact to help him go through and organise his
academic work about once a week (we were going to use the personal tutor
system) and somewhere he can go if he feels under pressure or stressed.
Our counselling service have experience of Asperger's and his parents have
been to see them.
