HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO THE ABLE INFORMER!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
For three years The Able Informer, the international resource
newsletter for persons with dsabilities, has been an information
cornerstone. The Able Informer has given readers straightforward details
about business and employment opportunities, extracurriculum
activities, travel, and adaptive technology. It also has a classified
section where services and products for people with disablities are
advertised. Unlike other newsletters, The Able Informer allows readers to
get information that they want quickly without muddling through
trivial facts and opinions. Yet it has an individual forum section where
people can speak out about disability isseues.
Tailored for the Information Age, The Able Informer has updated
its website with a brighter look, more captivating graphics, and a
constantly growing list of disability-related links. The website lets you
previews each upcoming issue of the newsletter. If the previews
peak your interest, you can subscribe to it right on the spot. Just like
the newsletter, The Able Informer webside has a "Trading Post" where
folks can advertise adaptive products or services for the lowest costs on
the Web.
In addition to its own website, The Able Informer has
joined forces with The International Homeworkers Association to form the
WorkABLE Forum. The forum will encourage information and opinion
exchanges of employment opportunities, adaptive technology, and
specialized services for people with disabilities. IHA members will be
able to access the WorkABLE Forum at
http:/cgi.gen.com/homeworkes/forums/WorkABLE . A WorkABLE column will
also appear in The IHA newsletter echoing forum topics.
Rosemary Musachio started The Able Informer for two reasons: to
offer the physical challenged a convenient way
to find resources and to offer establishments of all kinds an inexpensive
way to publicize their products and services
to the disabled community. For further information about contributing or
subscribing to The Able Informer or accessing the WorkABLE
Forum, e-mail [log in to unmask] or call 216-662-2572.
