My advice to this person is:
appeal against the decision not to grant him DLA, as most
are refused until applicants appeal;
if he wishes to work and feels able to do so, he should contact his local PACT
for assistance with training, employment, the Access to Work Scheme
and the Supported employment Scheme;
if he feels that he were able to work only a few hours per week, it
is possible to do this under the Therapeutic Earnings Scheme.
This allows a person to earn forty-five pounds fifty per week, working no
more than sixteen hours average, without it affecting his/her incapacity benefit;
I would be happy to offer Peter any further help that I can, if he wishes
to contact me directly.
