Sorry- Forgot to sign the last version!
One of the strands of our HEFCE funded project will also focus on this
issue.
Our plan at the moment is to build on what we currently offer by
delivering half- day sessions to key staff on Disability Equality,
Dyslexia Awareness (due to popular demand!), Admissions Procedures and
Assessment Arrangements(ie exams etc, NOT diagnosis/ technology needs
etc.) It is possible that we might back up the programme with a staff
handbook containing guidance literature - some of it already exists in
other forms.
I know that Alan Hurst at the University of Central Lancashire has
proposed that all HEFCE projects with a staff development focus should
network to share good practice and avoid duplication of effort.Perhaps
this opportunity could be offered more widely.
Picking up the comment about Tecknowledgable, you could also consult
the summary of HEFCE project reports from the last initiative to
identify other universities where staff development/handbooks were
developed.
