Subject: DSA, BENEFITS & OVERSEAS PLACEMENTS
Priority: normal
Dear all
We are considering a prospective student who has applied for a course
which has a mandatory placement overseas. He is quite keen to do
this - in Holland and Sweden - where he already has contacts.
The student is currently in receipt of DLA and SDA and will
definitely be eligible for DSA. Does anyone know whether students
with disabilities who have to go abroad on placement retain their
rights to benefits and DSA to be paid while they are away from the
UK.
Comments, advice, warnings, all gratefully received!
