The set-up at Nottingham is similar to to that which you have now. to
quote what Helen Henry the Head of the counselling service said for
the Disability Statement the general University counselling service
can respond to students who have mental health difficulties, and
within the constraints of confidentiality, and with the students'
consent, it works closely with the doctors at the Health Centre, and
the visiting psychiatrist. I am not aware of psychotherapists at the
Health Centre.
While more than one of the counsellors has an interest, and some
training, in mental health issues, that is not the only thing with
which they deal. Students can refer themselves directly to them
You would presumably need a service for non-medical cases.
