Further to Ian's comments, Word 7 does not use the Visual Basic macro
language. Word 8, however, does. Word 7 is very much like Word 6, and is
saved in Word 6 format. Word 8 is the most recent version, and not
completely compatible with either Word 7 or Word 6. The difficulties, at
least with DragonDictate, which I use, don't appear to be because of any
change in the macro language. In any case, most users who have commented
on the voice-users mailist prefer the recognition when using Word 6 or
WordPerfect 6. Perversely, I like Word 7 and have actually not run into
major changes in recognition since I upgraded from version 6.
