Anybody know about voice input on Windows NT?
Dragon Dictate Singles says on the box that it works with NT as well as 3.x
and 95. I presume that the full product also does now, although I do not
have information in front of me to confirm it. Singles needs 16MB for NT,
minimum.
Singles, you may gather, is now available. It seems to be practically the
same product as the 10k "personal edition". I have not yet had the chance
to work out what the differences are, although the 10k is stilll being
marketed at the higher price. I understand that Singles actually lets you
dictate directly into all the applications that the full product does,
although the box says that it only works for, say, Word. (Too difficult for
them to work out how to slug it properly before they rushed it to market, I
guess). It costs UKP85 + VAT (at least from us it does), and, like Kurzweil
VoicePad Pro, is currently the US version, with US spellings.
In development is a UK product from Dragon called Solo, Price UKP 79.99
+VAT. ETA a month or so. I understand that this will be a bit more
restricted than the current version of Singles, supporting the 5 main MS
products only. But English English.
I hope to update our web page about Singles in the next day or so.
