Perhaps to find out what her medical condition is ? If it were a member of
staff behaving this way the next step would be to seek their permission to
contact their GP or consultant to establish the medical picture and then take
it from there. If the student refuses I guess there is no choice but to invoke
disciplinary procedures if the behaviour is threatening other students and
staff. Our policy requires that students provide evidence of the need for
special exam arrangements or or extra time etc. so I think we would probably
want to say the same here - that special circumstances may require different
arrangements for this student to support them in their studies, but this would
need to backed up by medical evidence.
