We include the recommendation in our Disabled Student Allowance
reports that computing equipment should be covered by insurance. If
I am asked I usually suggest Endsleigh to students because they have
an office here on campus which is easy to access. However, mostly I
just leave it up to the individual because I have found that people's
insurance matters are often complicated, sometimes they can cover
their equipment through parental insurance or they already have their
own which just needs an extension. One thing I do make clear if
asked is that it seems reasonable for DSA to cover only the computer
extension and I have found that, at least with Endsleigh, you can
only take that out if you already have their general cover which the
student would therefore have to pay for.
Hope this is helpful
