After speaking to the DFEE on this matter, it is their opinion that
the Awards Regulations do not prohibit a claim under the DSAs to pay
for special examination facilities or services. The DFEE state that
LEAs should assess such claims on their individual merit. Therefore,
it is my suggestion that colleagues begin to support students' claims
to LEAs for the extra cost of special arrangements for academic
assessment.
