I have a student referred to me who has been tested for dyslexia and
diagnosed as suffering from scotopic sensitivity syndrome.
He has been to see his optician who has been unable to offer any help
and advice, and his departments enthusiastic attempts at using tinted
acetates and the students own attempts at using dark glasses and
reading in dimly lit rooms, have proved completely unsuccessful.
I would be grateful for any advice anyone has with regards to
helping alleviate this condition, and particulalry on where I could
direct this student for controlled screening with coloured overlays.
Obviously I am aware of the Irlen Institute, but was wondering if
anyone had received help for this condition from anywhere else.
Many thanks
Fiona Maclagan
