Have a look at the disforum archives on http://www.mailbase.ac.uk for
a message thread entitled 'Speech Recognition software' from the
beginning of this month. Although it dealt with taped lectures, some
of the comments are related.
In connection with the lapel mic, I would recommend picking one which
is recommended by other voice users, and in these circumstances you
need a radio mic. Have a look at http://www.shure.com/tchs.html for
an example of a system which has been used by someone with good
results apparently (via the grapevine).
Other wise also have look at www.computeraudio.telex.com
