A student with Lupus has applied to her LEA (Swindon) for a pc with voice
activated software, which she was assessed for at the Swindon Access
Centre. She has now received the equipment.
She has also applied for a note taker, as she has tried taping lectures
and using a lap top, but these methods aren't working for her. The
University sent a letter of support, but the LEA are insisting that she
goes back to the Access Centre for another assessment. Quite honestly,
the student is becoming more and more exhausted trying to keep up with her
course and the LEA is just adding to the burden!
Does anyone have any suggestions for a way round this one?
