Hallo All,
Although I have been a member of dis-forum for some while, this is my first
attempt to send as opposed to receive!
So, here goes....
BT Special Educational Needs Brochure
As Dave Laycock mentioned in a previous E-mail, BT are keen to see access to
IT and communications for all. We are currently working on a brochure
containing suitable products for those in education who have or support
those with special needs.
A great many products and services already exist to support learning,
teaching and administration. Most can be used by all students, whatever
their impairment, through an appropriate access technology. We are trying to
capture and then communicate information about such products - especially
those with a telecoms aspect.
We have had a lot of feedback from schools and further education, and would
like to add more about higher education. This may then be added to our draft
brochure, or used to generate a new publication solely for the HE sector.
Any information provided would be very useful, especially:
IT and communications products used by tutors and students in HE
currently.
Any access technology used with these.
What works well, what doesn't?
What could BT do to help (now and in the future) ?
Any needs that are unique to those in higher education.
This is your chance to have your say in shaping our special needs strategy
and development work and we would very much like to here from you.
Your suggestions would be most appreciated.
Many thanks,
Kate
PS - we have already pulled together a lot of information and ideas about IT
and special needs but are always on the look-out for more - so please call
(or we can visit you) and we would be happy to talk about what BT can offer
(or what you think we should offer!).
